JOB PURPOSE
To be a member of a team of dedicated teaching staff concerned with the delivery and development of swimming lessons at Perth Leisure Pool.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Duties
- Organise and deliver swimming lessons, within Perth Leisure Pool and other Live Active Leisure facilities as required.
- Carry out administrative duties in connection with the efficient operation of programmes.
- Contribute to developing programme content.
- Regularly carry out and record safety checks for equipment and facilities used to deliver programmes.
- Assist in the production of material for the marketing and promotion of programmes.
- Coach a range of physical activities.
- Assist in the recruitment and development of coaches and instructors.
- Work closely with facility based staff to ensure the effective operation of the programmes.
- Organisation and preparation for classes taught, including session plans, class lists and administration of swimming lesson programme.
- Arrange appropriate equipment for classes.
Health and Safety
- To comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and all supplementary legislation.
- To ensure that any defect or damage to the building or items of equipment is reported to management of facilities.
- To ensure programmes are delivered in-line with operational policies and guidelines.
Training
- To attend regular staff training sessions, be they held in-house or externally.
- Assist in regular in-house or external training for coaches and instructors.
General
- To ensure you are physically fit to carry out your duties at all times.
- To carry out other reasonable duties as may be required.
- Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines.
