The predicted salary is between 18500 - 25000 £ per year.

36 hours per week (1 year fixed term)

Job Purpose

The apprentice will work within the Football Development team, providing support across a range of different projects and programmes contributing to the growth and development of community and LAL programmed football. As part of the role, the apprentice will undertake a Level 2 SVQ Modern Apprenticeship in Sports Coaching.

Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Duties

  • Support the delivery of LAL programmed activities including term time activities (pre‑school and primary school classes) and holiday camps.
  • Support the wider delivery of LAL activities in schools and in the community.
  • Contribute to the planning, administration and delivery of Community Sport Programmes including Club Development, Community Sports Hubs and Coaching & Volunteering.
  • Using marketing and social media skills, support the promotion of football development projects and programmes.
  • Use Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) to produce documents that will support the administration relating to the different aspects of football development.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of community and football development projects to assess impact.
  • Support the planning and coordination of Sports Events within LAL.
  • Undertake and complete SVQ Level 2 Modern Apprenticeship in Sports Coaching.

Programming, Marketing and Development

  • Contribute to the practical marketing and promotion of the Company’s activities, in conjunction with Company officers and in line with the Company’s Marketing and Service Plans.

General

  • Undertake other related duties as may be required by the Company.
  • Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines.

Additional Information

Candidates will have the opportunity to undertake job‑related qualifications, Child Protection, Risk Assessment, First Aid and Scottish Governing Body sports coaching qualifications. Candidates will have the opportunity to undertake the pool lifeguard qualification, and must be able to demonstrate that they are:

  • Able to jump or dive into the pool in deep water.
  • Able to swim continuously for 100 metres.
  • Able to swim 50 metres in under 1 minute.
  • Able to tread water for 1 minute.
  • Able to swim to the deepest part of the pool.
