The predicted salary is between 28800 - 48000 £ per year.
You will be required to collaborate with our clients at a senior level with a view to developing relationships to increase our likelihood of securing contract opportunities. You will also be responsible for the entire tender process, from developing accurate and detailed tender proposals to negotiating prices and contract terms with the client. The role of Estimator will require an organised, self‑motivated, and meticulous approach. You will be required to meet monthly work‑winning targets with a view to ensuring the ongoing success and profitability of the Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Survey potential work sites: establish ground and site conditions, confirm scope of work and specific design and specification requirements.
- Produce detailed survey reports for pricing and future co‑ordination of works.
- Analyse plans, complete take‑offs, produce bills of quantities and assess other project documentation to provide an accurate and compliant tender submission.
- Research, source, negotiate and obtain the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of relevant construction methods and technologies.
- Identify the best solution to achieve our client’s requirements, offering a competitive price and best value, whilst maximising our return on the project.
- Where required liaise with the Proposals coordinator and other team members to produce detailed tender submissions.
- Generate detailed quotes for our clients inclusive of all labour, plant & material costs supplemented by adjustments for overheads and profit.
- Assess the financial, technical, and operational risks of the project, and factor this into our quotes.
- Prepare detailed Schedule of works / Bill of Quantities for our Contracts Managers to work from.
- Formulate detailed programmes in line with the project contract requirements.
- Understand site specific risks and complete analysis of these for presentation in the tender risk register.
- Prepare schematics, layouts, and presentations to support proposals and quotations.
- Promote and develop relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry regulations and legislative requirements.
Business Development
- Monthly review and analysis of estimating figures with a view to converting leads and improving success rates.
- Attend meetings throughout England and Wales with both new and existing customers to promote Littlewood within the fencing industry.
- Utilise the Pipedrive CRM system to record, share and monitor leads & enquiries.
- Maintain client relationships by liaising with Contracts Managers to ensure successful completion of tendered works.
- Provide proactive and timely response to client enquiries and queries.
Experience and Qualifications

- Proven track record of securing contracts in a competitive environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Understand the need for flexibility within a growing business.
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
- Good commercial understanding and awareness.
