About the Employer
Littleton Green Community School is a replacement school for Huntington Primary School, located in Huntington on the edge of Cannock Chase.
The school serves boys and girls aged 3–11 and is maintained by Staffordshire University Academies Trust.
The school also offers sessional day care for children over 3 in its Nursery and Wraparound, and now caters for children aged 2 in Saplings Pre-school.
Responsibilities
- To complete training as per the apprenticeship specification, using work experience to support this role.
- Support to
Pupils: Provide quality integrated day care and education within the remit of Ofsted National Standards and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Plan and implement an appropriate curriculum within Birth to Three Matters framework and Foundation Stage guidance.
- Support pupils’ learning in the extended school setting, including working with individuals, groups and whole classes, using knowledge, experience, specialist skills and training.
- Contribute to the development of a seamless service for children where education and care are part of daily experiences for all children.
- Liaise effectively with other team members, children and parents/carers.
- Provide a range of stimulating indoor and outdoor activities relevant to age, stage and needs to develop all areas of development.
- Observe, monitor and record accurately the development of each child, keeping records up to date and in line with confidentiality and recording policies.
- Work in partnership with parents/carers and the team around the child, including those with special needs, to ensure full integration.
- Understand and adhere to policies to ensure safety and well‑being of children, parents and staff.
- Apply behaviour management strategies to manage behaviour constructively and create a purposeful learning environment.
- Contribute to creating an appropriate learning environment through display and classroom organisation.
- Contribute to creating appropriate learning resources.
