Part-time, 21 hours per week Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 9.00am to 4.30pm. Littlegarth School is seeking a self-motivated and experienced Bursar’s Assistant to join our busy and supportive Bursary team. Littlegarth is a warm, family-centred independent prep school for children aged 2-11, set in 28 acres near Nayland, north of Colchester. We are proud to be a kind, caring and ambitious community where every child is known and nurtured.
The successful candidate will support the Bursar with a wide range of finance and administrative duties, including:
- Accounts payable
- Purchase ledger
- Cash book
- Reconciliations
- Nominal ledger work
- Payroll preparation
- Statutory returns
- General office support
The role will also involve providing cover for the Bursar when required. We are looking for someone with strong payroll experience, excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and a thorough, methodical approach. The ideal candidate will be reliable, enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work under pressure using their own initiative. AAT qualification would be desirable.
