Little Flyers After School and Holiday Clubs believes that childhood is a magical time, and thus strives to encourage all our children to have fun, and to grow and challenge themselves in a safe environment.

We are looking for a play worker to come and join us at Little Flyers Ratho After school club for 19 hours per week during term time. Additional hours are available.

If you are full of energy and like to dance, sing, be adventurous, creative and silly, then this is the PERFECT job for you!

The role will involve:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
  • Providing comprehensive care for the young people including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents/carers.
  • Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment.
  • Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health, and safety standards are met.
  • Administering first aid when necessary.
  • Providing support and supervision to play workers and other staff.
  • Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
  • Encouraging parental involvement in the club.
  • Holding regular staff meetings and conducting regular reviews and appraisals for staff.
  • Administration and record keeping, including staff and child records, financial records, ordering and purchasing, and working within an agreed budget.
  • Developing and maintaining good communication with all members of the club, with schools, and especially with parents.
  • Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
  • Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment.

Candidates should have or be working towards a childcare qualification and have experience of working with children. Successful candidates will be subject to a PVG check and should be registered with SSSC.
