The role and what you'll be getting up to on a day to day basis:
Littlefish is seeking a highly capable Senior IT Buyer to join our growing procurement function and play a key role in supporting customer-facing IT projects. If you excel in commercial negotiation, enjoy building strong supplier relationships, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where your work directly impacts customer outcomes, this is an exciting opportunity to shape procurement excellence in a dynamic, technology-driven organisation.
You will:
- Act as a trusted commercial partner to internal stakeholders, ensuring we secure the best solutions for our customers while protecting value, compliance and efficiency.
- Support customer-driven IT projects through effective sourcing, purchasing and contracting activity.
- Conduct spend, requirements and market analysis to ensure commercial value and well-informed decisions.
- Lead supplier and contract negotiations to achieve optimal commercial and risk-balanced outcomes.
- Review and agree Statements of Work and supplier contracts in collaboration with legal and technical stakeholders.
- Manage purchase orders post-placement, ensuring accuracy, timely delivery and follow-on activities in support of operational teams.
- Manage procurement trackers, including savings logs, contract registers and supplier risk management tools.
- Identify opportunities to rationalise the supplier landscape, reduce risk and enhance value.
- Oversee supplier performance, build strong vendor relationships and drive timely issue resolution.
- Ensure adherence to procurement governance, GDPR, ISO standards and internal compliance requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across processes, systems and supplier interactions.
Who you are:
You’ll bring a blend of commercial skill, relationship management and procurement expertise along with the confidence to operate in a project-driven environment with multiple priorities:
- Solid experience in IT procurement or a related field, with exposure to vendors, distributors, resellers and service providers.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable commercial outcomes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability, enabling you to influence confidently.
- A structured and analytical approach, allowing you to interpret requirements, assess risk and deliver commercially sound agreements.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining accuracy, momentum and professionalism.
- A clear understanding of how to translate business needs into supplier commitments and contract clarity.
- Procurement qualifications are advantageous but not essential; capability and ownership matter most.
