You will:

  • Operate as a senior engineer within a client‑aligned team, balancing hands‑on technical delivery with thought leadership and mentoring.
  • Design, build and manage Azure platforms using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep).
  • Own complex incidents, changes and escalations across customer environments.
  • Drive improvements in automation, security and platform consistency.
  • Support vulnerability management and security configuration across cloud environments.
  • Drive observability across cloud services using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and application insights.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for engineers across the team.
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps, best practice and standards.
  • Lead or support onboarding of new customers and complex projects.
  • Produce design documentation and contribute to pre‑sales and solution shaping.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with key customers, helping them get more from their platforms.

Who you are:

  • You’re an experienced infrastructure or platform engineer with a strong Azure and automation background, and you enjoy working across both delivery and design.
  • Experience in a platform / infrastructure engineering role.
  • Strong Azure knowledge across IaaS, PaaS and cloud‑native services.
  • Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred, Bicep also considered).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar).
  • Solid understanding of networking and security SaaS/PaaS integrations.
  • Experience with containerisation (Docker, Azure Container Apps).
  • Strong scripting capability (PowerShell essential).
  • Comfortable working across Windows and basic Linux environments.
  • Experience working within structured environments (incident, change, problem management).

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with vulnerability management and security configuration across cloud environments whilst implementing security best practices utilising MS Defender, Entra ID & Azure Policy.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes / AKS.
  • Experience with GitOps or automation tooling (e.g. Ansible, Flux, ArgoCD).
  • Azure certifications (AZ-104 & AZ‑400 or equivalent is preferable).

You’ll also be:

  • A strong communicator, able to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Comfortable mentoring and supporting other engineers.
  • Able to prioritise and manage multiple workstreams.
