Shift pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off. Must be eligible for SC Clearance (UK resident for the last 5 years) and NPPV2 clearance.

The role and what you’ll be getting up to on a day-to-day basis:
- As a Tier 1 Cyber Security Analyst, you’ll work within our CSOC to monitor customer environments, investigate security alerts, and respond to confirmed incidents.
- You’ll work closely with incident responders and customers, translating complex technical findings into clear, actionable insight, while helping enhance our detection capabilities and response playbooks.
You will:
- Monitor security incidents via the ITSM platform
- Conduct analysis using a wide range of security tools
- Investigate alerts and respond swiftly to events
- Help maintain the integrity of client IT infrastructures
- Identify and contain internal or external threats
- Conduct privileged account reviews
- Perform vulnerability and risk assessments
- Analyse security breaches to determine root cause
- Contribute to enhancing the SIEM platform
- Support continuous improvement across CSOC operations
Who you are:
- You have experience in security operations and a strong understanding of threat detection and incident response.
- Calm under pressure and confident in your decisions, you’re motivated by solving complex security challenges and enjoy supporting junior analysts while improving how a SOC operates.
You will have:
- Experience in a Security Operations or similar cyber security role
- Experience investigating and responding to cyber security incidents
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM, EDR, and email security tooling
- Strong understanding of modern attack techniques, including account compromise, malware, and reconnaissance activity
- Knowledge of server, endpoint, and network technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking, judgement, and attention to detail
- A service‑delivery mindset with strong customer focus
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
It’s a bonus if you also have:
- Experience working as an incident responder
- Experience enhancing detection rules or SOAR/playbook automation
- Industry certifications such as SC‑200, AZ‑500, MS‑500, SC‑100, or SANS certifications
- Knowledge of vulnerability assessment and remediation
- Awareness of HMG security standards, ITIL, or commercial service delivery
