The role and what you’ll be getting up to on a day to day basis:

Are you a passionate Network Engineer ready to make your mark in a fast-moving, tech‑driven environment? At Littlefish, we go far beyond routine support — we architect, optimise, and transform IT environments to empower our clients’ success. This role gives you the opportunity to be embedded onsite with one of our prestigious clients in Brentford, acting as a trusted technical expert right at the heart of their operation. You’ll build meaningful relationships, solve complex challenges in real time, and directly influence the reliability and performance of their network estate.

As part of our Infrastructure team, you’ll be at the centre of complex problem‑solving, technical escalation, and continuous improvement — ensuring our client receives an exceptional, proactive, and professional service every day.

You will:

  • Be the Backbone: Deliver proactive 3rd line support for our cutting-edge network and firewall stack, working with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and more.
  • Own the Challenge: Tackle complex incidents, act as a technical escalation point, and collaborate with Service Managers to resolve critical issues.
  • Drive Projects: Lend your expertise to major projects, transitions, and operational acceptance – your input shapes our technology roadmap.
  • Mentor & Lead: Share your knowledge, coach colleagues, and help define the standards that keep us ahead of the curve.
  • Innovate: Embrace technology change – AI and automation are part of our DNA, and you’ll help us stay at the forefront.

What you’ll bring:

  • Technical Credentials: At least one of Cisco CCNA, MS: Azure Network Engineer Associate, Juniper JNCIA, Fortinet Certified Professional, or HPE Aruba Networking Associate.
  • Real-World Experience: 2+ years in network engineering, ideally within an MSP. You know your BGP from your OSPF, and you’re hands-on with enterprise kit.
  • Security Mindset: Understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, and network security best practices.
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience with monitoring and management tools like SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, or Network Configuration Manager.
  • Communication: You can translate technical detail for non-technical audiences and thrive in both solo and team settings.
  • Continuous Learner: Willing to upskill, work flexibly, and travel as needed.
