Opportunity
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Compliance Coordinator to help establish and maintain our risk management framework as we continue our expansion. This newly created role offers an exceptional opportunity to build your compliance career whilst making a real impact on a growing business. Working 3 days per week, you\’ll have genuine work‑life balance whilst developing expertise across multiple compliance domains.
This role would suit someone with foundational compliance experience looking to step up, or an experienced professional seeking flexible working arrangements without the corporate bureaucracy.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Due Diligence
- Implement and maintain robust Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures for client onboarding
- Ensure full compliance with Fulfilment House Due Diligence Scheme (FHDDS) requirements, including registration, record‑keeping, and HMRC reporting obligations
- Manage product regulation compliance for diverse inventory including cosmetics/skincare (EU Cosmetics Regulation), alcohol (AWRS requirements), and food products (FSA regulations)
- Conduct thorough due diligence on prospective clients and maintain ongoing monitoring procedures
Risk Management & Insurance
- Develop and maintain comprehensive risk registers across all operational areas
- Manage all company insurance policies including goods in transit, warehouse liability, professional indemnity, and employer\’s liability
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
- Liaise with insurers and brokers to ensure adequate coverage as the business scales
Health, Safety & Fire Compliance
- Oversee fire safety compliance across all three warehouse locations
- Ensure adherence to HSE regulations and warehouse‑specific safety requirements
- Coordinate fire risk assessments, evacuation procedures, and staff training
- Maintain relationships with local fire authorities and safety inspectors
Employment Compliance & Documentation
- Conduct employment due diligence including right to work checks and reference verification
- Maintain comprehensive staff records in compliance with GDPR and employment law
- Ensure compliance with Living Wage Foundation requirements
- Support HR processes with risk‑based guidance on disciplinary and grievance procedures
Information Management & Systems
- Build and maintain a centralised document repository for all compliance documentation
- Establish document retention policies aligned with regulatory requirements
- Create audit trails for client and staff documentationDevelop standardised compliance reporting for board and stakeholder review
Essential Requirements
- Understanding of AML/KYC principles with willingness to develop expertise in logistics applications
- Basic knowledge of regulatory compliance and ability to research requirements
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
- Proficiency in document management and record‑keeping
- Good understanding of data protection principles
- Ability to learn and interpret regulations affecting our sector
- Excellent written communication for procedure documentation
- Computer literate with ability to maintain digital filing systems
- Self‑motivated with ability to work independently 3 days per week
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in compliance, risk, or audit roles (any sector)
- AML/KYC certification or willingness to obtain within first year
- Experience in logistics, e‑commerce, or retail sectors
- Knowledge of FHDDS requirements or customs procedures
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Experience with insurance administration
- Familiarity with warehouse or fulfilment operations
- Project management experience for compliance initiatives

What We Offer
- Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 pro‑rata (£21,000 for 3 days per week)
- Genuine 3‑day working week with no expectation of availability on days off

Location
