- Role Description
- We are on the hunt for Performing Arts Teachers with
SEND EXPERIENCE.
You will deliver engaging drama and music lessons to children and young people aged 5-11 at a lovely SEND school that we are in partnership with.
This role is part-time 1.5hrs a week, on-site role involves planning and teaching age-appropriate sessions that build confidence, communication skills, performance skills, and enjoyment of the performing arts.
Qualifications
- Strong background in performing arts (e. g., drama, theatre, music, or musical theatre) and experience teaching or coaching children and young people.
- Strong passion, experience and knowledge of working with SEND children.
- Ability to design and deliver structured, creative lessons that develop confidence, communication, and performance skills.
- Excellent classroom management, with the ability to create an inclusive, encouraging, and safe learning environment.
- Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues.
- Relevant teaching or performing arts qualifications (e. g., degree, diploma, or recognised training) are highly beneficial.
- Experience working in extracurricular, school, or community arts settings and supporting group performances or showcases.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with willingness to undergo background checks as required.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours in line with centre schedules and a genuine passion for empowering young performers.
