The predicted salary is between 11 - 13 £ per hour.

As a Special Educational Needs Coordinator your role will be to provide a high standard of physical, emotional, and social care for children attending the setting. You will also be required to provide support to your fellow team members and senior staff whilst implementing the individual care plans of children requiring additional support.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Work with the children attending Little Twisters
  • Work well within your team
  • Liaise with parents and carers

Reports to: Nursery management team and SENCo

Job purpose: To carry out SEN support across the nursery, working alongside the nursery SENCo and room leaders and staff. Record observations from children's individual plans ensuring targets are closely followed and shared with the nursery SENCo. Attend meetings where appropriate to share information supporting the voice of the children who require additional support.

To operate a programme of experiences and activities suitable for the age and range of children in your room in conjunction with other staff. To understand and promote the ethos of the company and uphold the highest standards of childcare. To observe and understand the rules of confidentiality. To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people within the setting, ensuring the nurseries policies and procedures are observed at all times.

To build positive relationships with children, families, and internal/external professionals demonstrating positive behaviour and expectations. To support staff and engage in a good staff team. To be involved in out of work activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, fundraising events.

To be flexible within working practices of the setting, be prepared to help where needed including to undertake certain domestic jobs for example preparation of snacks and meals alongside the cleansing of equipment. Carry out ongoing cleaning of the nursery, toys, and equipment. To learn, understand and implement the Little Twisters policies and procedures within the nursery. To support and promote diversity and equality.

To record accidents and incidents, ensuring the manager has confirmed knowledge of this before the parent/carer receives it. To look upon the setting as a "whole" be aware of other rooms needs and be constantly aware of all children's needs. To ensure each child is collected by someone known to the setting. To ensure mealtimes is a time of pleasant social sharing. To provide warmth and comfort if a child becomes ill.

To ensure the setting is a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development. To promote the nursery to current and potential parents, ensuring we stand out at all times. To be punctual and follow the nurseries correct uniform at all times adhering to the staff book rules. Drive own development through active participation in progress reviews, appraisals, one to ones and requesting supervisions when required.

Pay: Up to £12.97 per hour
