A lovely family based in Kingston, London, is seeking a nanny to care for their newborn baby and school-aged child on a part-time basis. The role includes all general nanny duties. Care will be split between the two children, and they are seeking a candidate who is warm, nurturing, and can handle pressure. Someone who is organised, proactive, trustworthy and reliable (especially when it comes to overnight care) and who is confident with engaging with the children who are both at different stages of development. A driver would be a bonus. A valid paediatric first aid qualification is required for this position.
Working hours: 8 / 8.5 hours per day, Wednesdays & Thursdays: 7:30 / 8 AM – 4 PM, Fridays added from September: 7:30 / 8 AM – 4 PM, Occasional overnight stays (a few times per year) to support while parents travel.
Duties include:
Ensuring the safety, well-being, and overall development of the children
Establishing and maintaining consistent daily routines to support the children’s structure and growth
Engaging the children in interactive play, educational activities, and outdoor outings such as park visits
Assisting with nappy changes and maintaining high standards of hygiene
Preparing and sterilising bottles, and feeding the baby as required
Supporting the children’s sleep routine, including settling for naps and bedtime
Bathing and dressing the baby appropriately for the weather and planned activities
Monitoring developmental milestones and updating parents on progress or concerns
Encouraging early learning through sensory play, music, and age-appropriate games
Reading books regularly to support language development and bonding
Keeping the children’s bedroom and play areas clean, tidy, and well-organised
Washing, drying, and folding the children’s clothes and linens
Organising the children’s wardrobe, including rotating seasonal clothing
Preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks suited to the children’s age and needs
Carrying out general housekeeping tasks related to the children
