Little Moons are bite-sized, handheld balls of artisan gelato, cheesecake, and ganache wrapped in a soft and chewy rice flour dough to create a distinctive snack that’s bursting with flavour. Their rollout has been pioneered by sister and brother duo Vivien and Howard Wong, who founded Little Moons in 2010. The product’s roots are in high-end restaurants, but over the last decade, retail packs have swept the frozen and chilled snacking categories in grocery and food service. Little Moons has rapidly established mochi, and frozen and chilled snacking, across the world. In 2025 we generated more than £50m revenue, and in 2026 we continue to drive towards high levels of growth. We are also a Certified B Corporation, which reflects our strong commitment to balancing profit and purpose. This certification means we are part of a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact, reinforcing our dedication to making a meaningful difference.
We are very proud of the culture that we have built at Little Moons. Not to stroke our own egos, but we are a great bunch of people - smart, passionate, interesting, and funny - who work hard to support and live our values, all the while keeping our mission in our forethoughts.
The Role:
As a Raw Materials Technologist, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring every ingredient and piece of packaging meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This role is all about making sure what goes into our products is as exceptional as what comes out. You’ll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to keep everything running smoothly, supporting the production of products our customers love. It’s a hands‑on, detail‑driven role where your work directly impacts the quality and integrity of what we deliver. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about raw materials and food safety, and who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a proactive mindset to the team. If that sounds like you, this is your chance to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inbound Raw Material Inspection
- Perform quality checks on incoming raw materials against approved specifications and standards.
- Verify supplier documentation (Certificates of Analysis, safety data sheets, compliance certificates).
- Responsible for creating ingredient QAS and testing standards, with an understanding of how this subsequently impacts the quality attributes of our finished products.
- Sampling & Testing
- Collect representative samples of raw materials for laboratory analysis.
- Conduct physical and chemical tests as per defined protocols.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Involvement in ad‑hoc raw material and supplier approvals.
- Ensure all inbound materials meet regulatory, safety, and company quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and non‑conformance reports.
- Non‑Conformance Management
- Identify and report deviations or defects in raw materials.
- Initiate corrective actions and communicate with procurement or suppliers as needed.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding quality issues and documentation discrepancies.
- Support resolution of quality concerns promptly to avoid production delays.
- Inventory & Traceability
- Ensure proper labelling and traceability of raw materials from receipt to storage.
- Monitor quarantine and release status of materials.
- Participate in root cause analysis for recurring quality issues.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance inbound material quality control.
- Contribute to the Brighter Future Sustainability Strategy and company's linked OKRs.
- Support your function and any direct report(s) to contribute too.
- Enthusiastic & Positive – Brings energy and a “can‑do” attitude to the role.
- Fun & Collaborative – Enjoys working in a team environment and contributes to a positive workplace culture.
- Proactive & Solution‑Oriented – Takes initiative, anticipates challenges, and acts before problems arise.
- Willing to Learn & Develop – Open to growth, training, and expanding technical knowledge.
- Detail‑Oriented & Organised – Ensures accuracy in compliance and documentation.
- Strong Communicator – Able to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Some of the benefits of working here include:
- Enhanced Baby Leave – new parents are entitled to sixteen weeks off on full pay during the child’s first year of life (available to team members who have worked for Little Moons for one year at Week 26 of pregnancy).
- Mental Health Support – we partner with Health Assured to provide remote emotional support to team members.
- Discretionary Annual Bonus based on company performance.
- Respect, Trust, and Honesty – personal and professional maturity is important to us, and we keep each other honest.
- Your Holidays – 33 days annual leave (Including Bank Holidays).
- Additional Days Off with long service.
To be engaged, you must feel included and valued, so we have built, and nurtured, a culture where inclusiveness is not a buzzword, but a way of being.
