We are looking for a passionate, reliable and ambitious Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at The Leicester Arms Country Inn, our beautiful food‑led country inn in the heart of Penshurst. The Leicester Arms is all about proper hospitality, great seasonal food, attention to detail and creating a guest experience that feels warm, generous and memorable. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their section, wants to learn, and understands that consistency, preparation and teamwork are what make a kitchen successful.
As Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for running your section to a high standard, supporting the senior kitchen team, and helping deliver food that reflects the quality and ambition of The Leicester Arms. You will work closely with Head Chef Adam Turley to ensure every dish is prepared, cooked and presented consistently, while maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation and food safety.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, cook and present dishes to the agreed company and site standards.
- Run your section confidently during service.
- Complete daily prep lists and support the kitchen team with mise en place.
- Maintain high standards of presentation, consistency and portion control.
- Follow recipes, specifications and allergen procedures correctly.
- Support with stock rotation, labelling, storage and wastage control.
- Keep your section clean, organised and ready for service.
- Work closely with the senior chefs to maintain food GP, reduce waste and protect quality.
- Follow all food safety, health and safety, hygiene and company procedures.
- Support junior chefs, commis chefs and kitchen porters when required.
- Bring a positive attitude to the kitchen and help create a professional, respectful team environment.
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef de Partie ready to step up.
- A genuine passion for fresh, seasonal food.
- Good knowledge of kitchen sections, preparation and service.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Calm under pressure and able to work well during busy services.
- Reliable, punctual and organised.
