Little & Large Pub Company are looking for an exceptional and creative Sous chef for their award-winning pub, The Running Horses in Mickleham, Surrey.

The ideal candidate will come from a Gastro Pub & restaurant background with a love ofworking with fresh ingredients to deliver great dishes enjoyed by all.

The Running Horses is in the Top best country pubs by Sunday Times, In The good food Guide for their amazing Sunday roasts and is a much-loved Surrey institution.

The pub was restored to its former glory by the Little & Large Pub Company and won the best pub in the UK award in the year 2023

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sous chef to work in an award-winning and critically acclaimed group.

You will be working alongside and supporting our Head chef to produce Pub classics and new innovative more refined dishes to a BIB and Rosette standard.

We would love to hear from you if you possess the following qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant or pub
  • Enthusiastic, dynamic, ready for a new challenge and to learn new skills
  • Experience in working in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Able to quality control food and follow recipe specs.
  • Able to lead, train, and inspire a kitchen team in the absence of the Head chef
  • Being able to place orders, make prep lists and handovers at the end of shift
  • Understanding health and safety regulations, compliance, and procedures.
  • Able to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
