We are seeking a talented and driven Senior Sous Chef to join a high-energy, fresh-food-led kitchen within a dynamic and fast-paced hospitality environment. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced kitchen leader to play a key role in delivering exceptional food quality, consistency, and operational excellence. Working closely with the Head Chef and senior leadership team, you will help lead daily kitchen operations, support menu execution, and develop a strong, motivated kitchen brigade.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in leading all kitchen operations across service periods
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality dishes and presentation standards
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen organisation, prep, and service execution
- Train, coach, and develop junior chefs to maintain strong kitchen performance
- Maintain strict HACCP, Food Safety, and Health & Safety standards at all times
- Support stock control, ordering, and waste management processes
- Assist in menu development, specials creation, and recipe standardisation
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and consistency across all sections
- Lead by example during busy services, maintaining calm and efficiency under pressure
- Support labour management and kitchen rota planning in collaboration with the Head Chef
About You
- Current Senior Sous Chef or strong Sous Chef in a high-volume, quality-led kitchen
- Strong experience in fresh food environments
- Passionate about food quality, consistency, and operational excellence
- Excellent leadership and team development skills
- Strong understanding of kitchen systems, food safety, and compliance
- Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced service environments
- Financial awareness including food cost, stock control, and waste reduction
