We’re looking for a Teacher of Film and Media, Teacher of English, and, for the right candidate, a Subject Leader of Film and Media at Little Heath School, a highly successful comprehensive school in a semi‑rural setting west of Reading, with a new £15 million main block and a commitment to CPD.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English and/or Film/Media across all Key Stages, including the ability to tutor A‑Level English Literature, English Language, Film and Media, GCSE English and Media, and the Creative Digital Pathway.
- Be passionate about these subjects, inspiring and motivating students.
- Deliver innovative, student‑centred classroom teaching, helping all students make outstanding progress.
- Work collaboratively within a large, diverse team, supporting colleagues and sharing best practice.
- Engage in reflective practice and continual development of teaching skills, supported by the school’s CPD programme.
- When applying for the Subject Leader role: lead and motivate a team; develop and refine curriculum and planning across the department.
Candidate Profile
- Experience as a teacher, with potential as an ECT, or an interested subject leader.
- Public‑facing role under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 with strong spoken English skills.
- Ability to converse with pupils and provide accurate instruction.
- Willingness to meet safeguarding and welfare commitments; DBS checks will be carried out.
