We are launching a new kind of retail and community destination in the heart of Brixton — a thoughtfully designed showroom, office and retail space centred around ethical fashion, community and modern family life. Located just moments from both London Underground Brixton station and the main rail station, the space will operate as a curated retail environment and welcoming community hub, open Thursday to Saturday each week. Access will be via buzzer‑operated entry, creating a more personal and intentional customer experience than a traditional high street shop.
We are looking for someone organised, proactive and friendly who is excited by the opportunity to help shape and run this space from the ground up. Little Green Radicals are an award‑winning, London based brand that make colourful, comfy clothes for free‑range kids. For the last 20 years, we've been at the forefront of an ethical fashion revolution, using organic Fairtrade cotton and sustainable materials to make fantastic quality playwear that can be passed from one little adventurer to another. We’re a dynamic team working together to grow our company, whilst making a positive difference to the world.
The Role
This is a hands‑on position combining retail operations, customer experience, stock management and community event coordination. You will be the face of the space during opening days, ensuring every customer interaction feels welcoming, personal and aligned with our values. Alongside day‑to‑day retail operations, you will help build an engaging programme of events aimed at new parents and young families with children aged 0–6y. This role would suit someone who thrives in independent retail environments, enjoys taking ownership, and is passionate about ethical fashion, community‑building and customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Retail & Customer Experience
- Welcome and assist customers visiting the retail space
- Deliver a warm, engaging and highly personalised customer experience
- Manage buzzer‑operated customer entry and maintain a calm, secure environment
- Support sales activity and product storytelling
- Maintain visual merchandising and presentation standards throughout the space
- Stock & Operations
- Manage inventory, deliveries and stock organisation
- Monitor stock levels and support replenishment processes
- Maintain operational systems and ensure the space runs smoothly day‑to‑day
- Coordinate opening and closing procedures
- Community & Events
- Organise and host community events targeted at new parents and children aged 0–6y
- Arrange seasonal sample sales and promotional retail events
- Help build an inclusive, welcoming and creative community atmosphere
- Develop ideas for partnerships, workshops and collaborations
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised and dependable
- Friendly, positive and naturally customer‑focused
- A proactive self‑starter who enjoys taking initiative
- Experienced in customer‑facing retail environments, community management (ideally family‑focussed) or event coordination
- Confident managing stock and operational processes
- Passionate about ethical fashion and independent brands
- Excited by community‑building and hosting events
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the space
Location & Schedule
The role is based in Brixton, South London, in a retail space positioned above a shop on the corner of Atlantic Road and Brixton Road. Retail space open days: Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Part‑time role with potential for growth. Some flexibility may be required around events and seasonal sales.
Why This Role Is Different
This is not a traditional retail role. The space has been designed to feel more like a creative studio and community hub than a standard shop floor. We are building something new, welcoming and values‑led — combining ethical retail with genuine community connection. This is an opportunity to help shape a new concept from the beginning and play a key role in building its culture and atmosphere.
Why Join Little Green Radicals
- Flexible working offered
- High‑impact role in a growing, purpose‑led brand
- Opportunities for training, promotion, and skills development
- Extra day annual leave / year worked (up to 5)
- Pension and enhanced maternity / paternity leave
