What do we do? Little Flippers is a premier state of the art year round Learn to Swim Center specifically designed for infants, toddlers, and children. Our facility is the first of its kind in Massachusetts offering Metro West Boston families the ultimate program for swim instruction and life saving water safety education.

What we are looking for: We are looking to hire a Training and Development Manager! Our Training and Development manager will be responsible for taking care of our team! You will help support new hires from day 1 on the job until they are independent instructors. Also, you will play an integral role in employee culture, employee engagement and overall employee job satisfaction. You should be someone who has a passion for the water and working with children while also being highly organized, dependable and open to feedback. As the Training and Development manager, you will report to the General Manager and provide support throughout prime time shifts. We have a fun and rewarding work environment with a great atmosphere for someone who loves families and being around people. Starting wage is negotiable with prior experience. This is a full-time position that requires afternoon/evening and weekend shifts.

What you will be expected to own:

  • Manage the development of all new hires.
  • Work alongside a team of managers to drive operational excellence.
  • Modeling our core values (Safety, Quality, Connection and WOW!) during all shifts.
  • Deliver reviews for new and seasoned employees.
  • Expected to solve complex problems on a daily basis.
  • Support the instructor, deck, office and mentor training programs.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
  • Prior leadership training or experience.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Great attitude and willingness to be coached.
  • Must be a problem solver and have the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • The ability to commit to afternoons and weekend shifts.

Little Flippers is a learn-to-swim school that aims to teach water safety throughout our swim lessons. Would you enjoy working in a kid friendly environment? Are you passionate about educating kids and their parents about the importance of being safe in and around water? If you answered yes, then this is the job for you! We are primarily looking for part-time swim instructors with the potential of full-time hours and some office work as well. Don't worry, prior experience in aquatics is not required! We offer a great, paid on-site training program that teaches everything you'll need to know about being an instructor.
