Whilst all of our nurseries provide exceptional levels of quality care and education, they are all completely unique! Our Catford Green nursery are looking for Nursery Assistants and Nursery Nurses to work as bank staff covering shifts on a zero hours contract.

Ideal Candidate

  • A full & relevant Level 2 or above qualification in Early Years
  • Experience working in a nursery
  • An interest in working with young children (from 0-5 years)
  • Team player
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to use initiative
  • A passion for the Early Years

Little Elms Day care Nurseries is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake online safeguarding training and all positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the daily running of the nursery, ensuring a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children aged 0–5.
  • Work as part of the team to deliver high-quality care and early education.
  • Assist in planning and setting up age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
  • Supervise and engage with children during play, mealtimes, and rest periods.
  • Help maintain a clean, tidy and well‑organised nursery environment.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and health and safety policies at all times.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Observe and record children’s progress, sharing information with the team to support individual development.
  • Support children with personal care routines as needed (e.g. nappy changing, toileting, handwashing).
  • Contribute to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that reflects the nursery’s values.
