Our dedicated History Hit team are on the look out for a Production Manager to support our SVOD programmes, YouTube channels, and end-to-end production. A perfect opportunity for history superfans!

As Production Manager for History Hit (SVOD & YouTube Productions) you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of production projects, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery. This involves:

  • Comprehensive financial planning (budgeting, cost monitoring)
  • Logistical coordination (crew/kit hire, travel, permits)
  • Compliance (legal, clearance, risk management)
  • Team oversight, including line management of a Production Assistant

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the production of programmes for History Hit's SVOD and YouTube channels
  • Writing budgets (both internal purposes and clients), management of the annual production budget and project planning
  • Supporting a team with the smooth production of projects usually with multiple deliverables
  • Managing a variety of cost monitors, ensuring that delivery is achievable within the required timeframe and budget
  • Building and running production schedules
  • Managing end-to-end production; including crew and kit hire, location arrangements, permits, travel and accommodation
  • Booking international travel, organising visas and other supporting documents such as ATA carnets
  • Creating call sheets and risk assessments
  • Recruiting staff and freelancers
  • Management of people and resources, and assessing and reporting production risks
  • Risk management and integration of safety protocols into productions
  • Managing compliance and legal requirements of original video content including Location Agreements, Talent Contracts and Third Party Archive Licensing/Clearances
  • Line managing a Production Assistant

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong knowledge of digital and broadcast production
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience in managing client relationships and third-party archive material
  • Thorough understanding of all stages of production
  • Experience in broadcast and digital production
  • Strong knowledge of staffing, talent and production contracts (as well as business affairs processes)
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Excellent communication, organisational and logistical skills
  • Experience in legal, clearance and compliance issues
  • Experience in digital and innovative content production, delivering content for broadcast clients and brands, and post production paperwork and programmes (including Silvermouse)
  • Experience of working with 3rd Party Archive material, and client management (including maintained and cultivating good relationships with clients)
  • Proficiency using G-Suite including Sheets and Microsoft Office including Excel
