Little Bugs Fordell Firs operates within the Scouting Headquarters in Fordell Firs, Fife, while Little Bugs Abercorn is located in the picturesque Hopetoun Estate in South Queensferry. The organization is dedicated to fostering childhood development through outdoor play and learning, providing enriching and nature-focused early years education. Little Bugs prides itself on creating nurturing, inspiring, and engaging spaces for children to grow and thrive.
This is a full-time, on-site role based at Little Bugs Abercorn South Queensferry for an Outdoor Early Years Practitioner. The practitioner will engage with young children in an outdoor nursery setting to promote learning and development through creative outdoor activities and play. Daily responsibilities include:
- Supervising and supporting children’s growth
- Planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities
- Ensuring a safe and stimulating outdoor environment
- Promoting positive interactions among children while maintaining a child-centric approach to care and learning
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with children
- Knowledge and experience in early childhood development practices
- Creativity and problem-solving skills to design engaging outdoor activities
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
- A relevant child care qualification and experience in early years or outdoor education is preferred
