Key Person Duties:

Build strong, trust-based relationships with a designated group of children and their families to ensure their emotional and physical needs are met.

Planning & Assessment:

Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate play and learning activities. Observe, assess, and document children's progress using physical or digital learning journals.

Individual Support:

Tailor activities to accommodate different learning styles, abilities, and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Care & Hygiene:

Maintain strict standards of safety, cleanliness, and personal care, including assisting with meals, sleep routines, and hygiene.

Safeguarding:

Actively promote child protection policies, identify potential safeguarding concerns, and report them promptly in line with setting guidelines.

Parent Partnership:

Maintain open, daily communication with parents and carers, delivering detailed handovers and participating in parents' evenings or progress reviews.

Teamwork & Mentoring:

Collaborate with nursery assistants and practitioners.
