Littelfuse is a leading, global manufacturer of electronic components serving more than 100,000 end customers across industrial, transportation, and electronics end markets. Our R&D Power Module Process Engineer is responsible for evaluating, developing, and optimizing semiconductor module production processes, with a strong focus on IGBT modules. This role requires deep hands-on experience across module manufacturing steps, problem identification, and process isolation. The engineer will play a key role in establishing, troubleshooting, and potentially leading an independent production-lab sequence.
About the Position:
- Evaluate and analyze manufacturing processes to ensure performance, quality, and reliability
- Diagnose, isolate, and troubleshoot process deviations when necessary
- Apply different analytical and evaluation techniques to address various production problems
- Test semiconductor chips (IGBT) and identify both process-related and chip-related issues
- Understand and manage the full sequence of module process flow
- Handle and evaluate soldering processes, including defect analysis and optimization
- Perform and support wire-bonding processes and assess bond quality and reliability
- Propose alternative processes, materials, or methods to improve yield and reliability
- Take ownership of setting up and running a production-lab sequence independently
- Work in a highly practical, hands-on manner within the production environment
About You:
- Bachelor's Degree with proven hands-on experience in IGBT module processes
- Strong understanding of semiconductor module manufacturing processes
- Practical knowledge of soldering techniques and failure mechanisms
- Experience with wire-bonding processes and related reliability concerns
- Ability to analyze process flows and identify root causes of defects
