We are delighted to represent our client in offering an opportunity to join their team as a Business Development Manager. They support customers by delivering excellence in energy efficiency, energy management, and embedded energy generation. You will primarily focus on revenue generation through the identification, development, and successful commercial close of energy services sales opportunities across a range of technical solutions.

Your Role
You will be responsible for creating a comprehensive contact strategy and business plan to establish a direct new business pipeline. This includes developing and nurturing internal relationships with the existing sales teams to strengthen the group proposition and maximise sales revenues. Your role will involve supporting new business opportunities within the existing group sales functions and upselling products and services to current customers. As a key representative of our product suite, you will attend industry events to champion our offerings.
Collaboration is crucial, and you'll work closely with our in-house marketing and data teams to devise innovative marketing and sales campaigns. Ensuring meticulous tracking and documentation of deal flow is part of your responsibilities, maintaining open communication with the Engineering/Project Delivery team, third-party Partners/Introducers, and Suppliers. To keep systems up-to-date, accuracy and timeliness are paramount. You will be responsible for updates to Energy Services systems, including CRM, SharePoint, and other file repositories and data platforms. Attending and leading customer meetings is also a key aspect of this role.
Additionally, you'll play a vital role in supporting the preparation of presentations, proposals, bids, and contractual documentation. Overall, your efforts will contribute to the growth and success of the business in the dynamic energy services sector.
Requirements
- Proven track record of sales in B2B.
- A consultative approach to sales with an eye for detail.
- Excellent communicator and relationship builder.
- Driven sales professional who can provide a narrative on short- and medium-term sales strategies.
- Highly competent proposal writer.
- An understanding of energy and carbon markets, with an ability to model and interpret energy data.
- Self-motivated individual comfortable in working independently with a demonstrable level of creativity and innovation.
- Proven identification and management of third-party partners to grow and enhance our proposition.
- Understanding of financed solutions including but not limited to PPA, asset leasing arrangements and as a Service models.
- Valid UK Driving licence.
Salary up to £60,000 (DOE) + 20% sales commission, company car and other company benefits.
