SITE BASED ROLE IN RUGBY Litron Lasers is one of the world’s leading solid-state laser manufacturers. Our lasers find widespread use in a multitude of scientific and industrial applications worldwide. The company is looking to recruit an experienced, industry-based Electronics Engineer with a hands-on attitude, to support activities within R&D and Manufacturing departments. This is a Rugby site-based position. You would be joining our dynamic team of engineers and scientists, developing cutting edge systems for the photonics and semiconductor industry. You will be responsible for: * To design, develop and validate electronics, with a focus on power electronics systems. * Requirements capture, schematic design, PCB layout, wiring diagram generation. * Liaising with Manufacturing, Quality team, Supply Chain team, customers, and subcontractors to understand current issues and help find solutions. * To develop production test rigs to qualify manufactured items. * Testing and development support of the product life cycle to ensure ongoing quality expectations, including conformance with Electromagnetic Compatibility regulations and relevant electrical safety standards. * Generation of necessary documentation. Skills / Knowledge desired: * Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering. * Use of ECAD software for schematic capture, PCB layout, wiring diagram generation. * Broad knowledge of hardware (analogue and digital) electronic engineering with minimum 3 years’ experience. * Experience working with high voltage and high current components (power supplies, DCDC converters, inverters, chargers etc) beneficial. * Competent in basic soldering re-work. * Experience designing to achieve compliance with international standards. * Knowledge of CANbus, I2C, SPI, UART interfaces. * Experience in circuit analysis using oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, signal generators. * Experience with circuit simulation using SPICE. * Some experience writing low-level C, and Python beneficial. * Ability to learn new concepts and skills. Project Management The successful applicant will also be an analytical, organised thinker with the ability to work both alone and in a team environment and have good time/project management skills. This is a higher-level electrical engineering role, and you must have a high level of experience in this field.
