Hands-on Delivery | IT and Business-Focused Projects
About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and delivery-focused IT Project Manager to join a SME size UK law firm during an exciting period of technology transformation. Law firm experience would be nice but professional services or someone who can roll their sleeves up in a small/medium business is also fine. You’ll be responsible for driving a diverse portfolio of IT projects across infrastructure, data centre and cyber resilience — all aimed at building a stronger, more secure foundation for the firm’s future growth.
This is not a corporate, process-heavy environment. You’ll be working within a flat structure alongside a Programme Manager and Business Analyst, so success will come from your ability to take ownership, connect the dots around business needs, and deliver results rather than relying on rigid frameworks – It’s hands on PM with elements of Change Management.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of IT projects from planning through to transition into BAU support.
- Drive delivery momentum — solving problems, clearing blockers and keeping things moving.
- Ensure that technology solutions genuinely meet business needs and are embedded effectively.
- Engage and influence stakeholders across departments and third-party suppliers.
- Manage risks, dependencies and priorities with a pragmatic, solutions-first approach.
- Contribute to shaping lightweight, effective delivery practices across the IT team.
Projects You’ll Get Involved In
- Transition to a new network and data centre provider.
- Strategic upgrades to Citrix and NetApp environments.
- Data deletion, archival and decommissioning initiatives.
- Disaster recovery testing and cyber security enhancement.
- Supporting pilots of AI-enabled legal technology tools.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong track record of hands-on delivery across infrastructure, systems or cyber projects.
- A practical, business-savvy mindset — able to link technical outcomes to business value.
- Confident communicator who can build credibility at all levels and challenge where needed.
- Comfortable working with limited process and structure, and bringing clarity where it’s missing.
- Experience in professional services or legal environments is beneficial, but not essential. If not legal, then someone who is used to a SME size end client (not consultancy).
- Could be right for IT Project Manager or an IT Change Manager.
Ideal Background
- Experience with networks, data centres, end-user computing or cyber projects.
- Familiar with managing vendors and technology partners (3rd parties).
- Understanding of project/change management frameworks (PRINCE2, Agile, ITIL, etc.).
- Any exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure, Citrix, or NetApp environments would be advantageous.
If interested and relevant, please send your CV and we will be in touch next week.
