Health & Safety Advisor Lithia UK Head Office - Hybrid (WFH on average 2 days per week)

Basic salary of £36,400, with company car, life assurance, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), exclusive company discounts on used car purchases, leasing deals and aftersales services.

Overview

Can you bring a drive and passion for all things Health & Safety to a new career as an H&S Advisor for Lithia UK? Reporting into the Head of Health and Safety, you will act as a supporting role which ensures that the approach to Health & Safety, Environmental and Insured Risk is embraced by all. You will demonstrate scrupulous stewardship in respect of regulators, contractors and insurers, and support risk controls in all areas of our business. As part of the role, you will be required to perform structured store audits and safety tours to the southern region of the Lithia UK dealer network. Your time will be split between home working on key H&S projects and being visible at stores for H&S support. Occasional travel to the Head office in Nottingham may be required for team gatherings.

Responsibilities

  • Performing store audits and safety tours to assess implementation of the Groups H&S management system.
  • Supporting colleagues with access administration of the Groups H&S management system and responding to queries within a timely manner.
  • Diary Management: Scheduling external contractors and Business Partner site visits, managing Audit non-compliant actions and assist with identifying strengths and weaknesses in the Groups H&S programme to promote development.
  • Creating workflow through the system, allocating tasks: work activity.
  • Providing support for risk management initiatives, devising SSoW and eLearning.
  • Supporting the Company in Health & Safety programmes and development.
  • Providing H&S Management System training and support to the business.
  • Liaising with external service providers: H&S Management system providers, Contractors – Plant & Equipment, Essential Utilities Maintenance, Occupational Health Programme Management and Planned Maintenance.

Qualities & Qualifications

  • Ideally you will have experience of working in a fast paced, challenging environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills and the confidence to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will have an open minded attitude, with a willingness to learn all things Health & Safety.
  • Prior experience within a similar role, with a qualification NEBOSH cert is desirable but not essential.
  • Passion and flexibility to visit a multitude of stores and interact with all levels of the business in a professional manner.
