We're looking for a technically strong
Financial Accountant to join our UK Accounting Team.
Reporting to the UK Deputy Financial Controller, you'll play a vital role in delivering statutory reporting across multiple UK legal entities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards while supporting the continued growth of our business.
Your Journey as a Financial Accountant
- Prepare year-end statutory financial statements for multiple UK legal entities in accordance with UK GAAP (FRS 102) and Group accounting policies.
- Support the external audit process, acting as a key contact for auditors and ensuring statutory accounts are delivered accurately and on time.
- Assist with the preparation of corporation tax reporting packs and work alongside external tax advisers where required.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements, including Companies House filings and statutory compliance.
- Maintain strong financial controls, identifying opportunities to improve processes and strengthen compliance with Group policies.
- Work closely with colleagues across Finance, Operations and Legal to gather information and ensure the completeness of statutory reporting.
- Support technical accounting research and the implementation of new accounting standards where required.
- Contribute to finance improvement initiatives, helping to enhance reporting processes and drive operational efficiencies.
- Assist the UK Deputy Financial Controller with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting and strategic projects.
- Maintain accounting records that meet audit standards and reflect best practice.
- Are You Ready to Embrace the Challenge? We’re looking for someone who has:
- A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102) with experience preparing statutory financial statements.
- Previous experience working with external auditors and supporting year-end audit processes.
- Excellent analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using ERP or financial systems such as SAP, Oracle or similar.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across finance and non-finance teams.
- A proactive approach, always looking for opportunities to improve processes and enhance financial reporting.
- A collaborative mindset with a commitment to accuracy, integrity and continuous improvement.
It would be great if you also have
- Experience working within a large group or multi-site organisation.
- Knowledge of corporation tax and deferred tax accounting.
- Experience supporting finance transformation or process improvement initiatives.
- Automotive industry experience, although this isn't essential.
