The Company: Our client is a leading Civil Engineering contractor with an enviable reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across the North West. Due to a major long-term framework win with a regional water utility provider, they are looking to bolster their commercial team with a specialist Quantity Surveyor.
The Role: Operating within the Water & Utilities division, you will be responsible for the commercial health of a suite of projects ranging from minor repair works to major pumping station upgrades. Our client is looking for a "hands-on" QS who is comfortable balancing office-based commercial management with regular site visits across Lancashire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the commercial lead on projects under NEC4 Option C (Target Cost) contracts.
- Managing the subcontract procurement process, ensuring our client’s commercial interests are protected.
- Accurate measurement and valuation of works on-site to ensure timely applications for payment.
- Identifying and negotiating compensation events, specifically focusing on unforeseen ground conditions typical of water infrastructure work.
- Providing detailed CVRs and cost forecasting to the Senior Management team.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in a QS role within Civil Engineering or Utilities.
- A solid understanding of NEC contract suites.
- Based in or willing to commute throughout Lancashire.
