This position is hybrid based in one of our UK offices and candidates should reside within reasonable commuting distance, as this role requires on-site presence at least three days per week. Available office locations: Nottingham or London, UK.
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with experience in a commercial software environment to complement and add value to our existing development team. Working within a Scrum framework, we are looking for a candidate with experience designing and developing Microsoft technology-based front-end and back-end software solutions. Knowledge of hosting and configuring applications within Azure is very desirable. Exposure to other technologies such as Dynamics 365/Power Apps, the SharePoint Framework, Microsoft Graph, and Power Automate is desirable. The successful candidate will be willing to learn new technologies, development languages, and skills as required to succeed in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders through various phases of the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure all raised defects are resolved
- Work with the Development Manager, Principal Technical Architect, Senior Technical Leadership, and Product Managers to ensure all the detailed assigned requirements are fulfilled
- Assume ownership of all work assigned
- Communicate efficiently on progress and report any impediments
- Create and maintain solution documentation
- Work to agreed principles, coding & security standards and recommend improvements if needed
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial software development environment
- Strong skills in C# and .NET
- Microsoft Dynamics 365/Power Apps experience required
- AI First Mentality and experience with AI Tools like Cursor, or Claude Code
- Experience developing Microsoft technology-based front-end and back-end software solutions
- Good understanding of JavaScript language and its libraries e.g. jQuery, React or TypeScript
- Keen interest in new technologies
- Fast learner
- Excellent problem solver, with the ability to think laterally when diagnosing complex issues
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
- Able to work as part of a team or on their own
