Overview: As a Manager, PMO at Litera, you will be part of a dynamic team that is passionate about driving innovation in the legal technology space. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools and collaborate with industry experts to deliver solutions that make a real difference in the legal profession. You will support the PMO Director by focusing on people management and team development within the Project Management Office. While you will not own all PMO processes or strategic initiatives, you will be responsible for the well-being, growth, and performance of the project managers, serving as the first level of escalation for project delivery issues and staff concerns. Your role is pivotal in fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring your team upholds high standards in project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- People Management & Team Development: Directly lead, mentor, and support project managers and PMO staff. Oversee onboarding, training, and coaching for your team, providing day-to-day guidance to help them navigate project challenges and grow professionally.
- First-Level Escalation & Issue Resolution: Serve as the initial point of contact for project-related staff and delivery issues, resolving concerns and conflicts at the team level. Escalate complex issues to the PMO Director when necessary, ensuring timely and effective communication.
- Support Project Governance & Process Adherence: Assist the PMO Director by reinforcing established project management processes and governance frameworks within your team. Provide feedback to the Director regarding process improvements and act as a champion of best practices at the staff level.
- Team-Level Operational Oversight: Monitor project workload, resource assignments, and performance metrics for your direct reports. Support the PMO Director by gathering and summarizing team data for reporting purposes as needed.
- Customer Sentiment & Team Advocacy: Encourage project managers to gather and act on customer feedback, working collaboratively to address concerns and celebrate successes. Support initiatives led by the PMO Director to enhance the client experience.
- Continuous Improvement & Staff Engagement: Foster a supportive team culture by soliciting feedback, identifying professional development needs, and recommending opportunities for workflow optimization to the PMO Director.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between your team and other departments, helping to resolve day-to-day operational issues and supporting cross-functional projects as directed by the PMO Director.
- Supportive Commercial & Partner Coordination: Assist the PMO Director and senior staff with the preparation of professional services quotations, resource planning, and partner communications. Ensure team alignment with broader commercial goals set by leadership.
- Technology Enablement (Team Level): Encourage your team’s adoption and effective use of project delivery tools, supporting technology optimization initiatives led by the PMO Director.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in project management, with hands-on people leadership responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of project management processes and the ability to coach others in best practices.
- Experience supporting agile and/or hybrid delivery teams.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and resolve team-level issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and mentorship skills.
- Ability to monitor and summarize operational performance for team members and report upward as needed.
- Direct project delivery experience, ideally within professional services or technology-driven environments.
- Experience working with diverse, global teams is preferred.

Pay Transparency Notice for New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois Applicants: The annual salary range for this position is $115,000 to $130,000. Actual compensation is determined by factors including education, work experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications. Litera offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company contribution, and incentive and recognition programs. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
