Role Overview

To provide the day-to-day management and strategic oversight of all customer-driven production requirements and related aspects of the business, which allows for the necessary levels of inventory to meet the logistical & production needs of our customers. The factory was established three years ago and has a strong growth trajectory. There is a flat organisational structure and a small team that reports into this role. Therefore, it is important that the successful candidate enjoys ‘working at the coalface’ developing process engineering capability and driving manufacturing success through strong attention to data.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To maintain the highest standards of integrity, reliability, availability, efficiency and security in all management and operational business systems of the business, ensuring that the appropriate levels of corporate governance are adhered to.
  • Ensuring the safety of all employees and visitors to the site and maintaining satisfactory Health & Safety standards within the site. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Responsible for the management and planning of all site production requirements and to ensure maintenance and security of all plant, machinery and buildings.
  • Supporting management with the delivery of personnel policies for the direct reporting teams at the factory.
  • Delivering the UK corporate governance in line with the Senior Team stakeholders.
  • Manage the repeat business for all internal & external customers including managing all works order completion dates to meet production demand.
  • Provide production management support on all NPI and CI projects.
  • Work with the Senior management Teams to deliver excellent levels of customer service.
  • Drive the smooth operation of the business with assistance from the leadership team to ensure optimisation of the plant & equipment in line with Company best practice.
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained throughout the site.
  • Oversee the management, motivation and development of site personnel including recruitment, appraisals, training and discipline.
  • Strict adherence to company reporting deadlines.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Assisting in delivering all aspects of the business strategy in line with the overall objectives of the UK business strategy.
  • Meeting budgetary constraints and controls for the factory operation.
  • Ensuring that all business controls, SOP’s, safe systems of work, and works order/planning documentation within the site are properly documented and updated as required.
  • Ensuring that the business is run in a professional and effective manner exceeding all of our internal and external customer’s expectations.

  • Strong process engineering aptitude.
  • Hands-on.
  • Data driven and analytical.
  • People person – team player (role involves leading a small team).
  • Extensive problem-solving ability.
  • Able to communicate across all levels within a business.
  • Strong IT skills detailed knowledge of Excel and strong appreciation of ERP systems.
  • Experience of running and motivating a team of workers to meet exacting levels of customer service.
