A leading global aerospace manufacturer is seeking an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join its Newton Abbot operation. This position is part of the senior leadership team and provides strategic HR support to approximately 400 employees within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The role involves partnering with site leadership to shape people strategy, drive organisational effectiveness and cultivate a high-performing workforce. Responsibilities include:
- Workforce planning
- Talent development
- Succession planning
- Employee engagement
- Performance management
- Apprenticeship programme oversight
- Leadership coaching
The position also involves leading a local HR and Occupational Health team and supporting positive employee relations, including relationships with trade unions.
The successful candidate will use data and people analytics to guide decision making, support reward and recognition processes, and ensure HR policies and practices are current, compliant and consistently applied. The role requires a proactive approach to organisational design, HR process improvement and change initiatives.
Candidate Profile
Candidates will bring at least two years’ experience in a senior HR role, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment, together with strong influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practice and experience dealing with trade unions is important. Applicants should be commercially minded, adaptable and comfortable driving continuous improvement in a dynamic operational setting. A relevant degree is required.
