An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dual position as Workshop Controller/Vehicle Technician to join our Toyota Dealership in Grantham. Hours of work are 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, as well as Saturdays on a rota basis, 8:30am to 12:30pm. Excellent package available £36,000 basic with a £42,000 OTE plus benefits.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Managing the workflow of all jobs to brand standard.
  • Manage a team of Technicians ensuring workflow through the workshop is done in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Provide focused management to the service department team, to ensure an excellent customer experience.
  • Ensure processes are always adhered to.
  • Conduct regular process reviews with the Aftersales Manager to identify operational issues/discrepancies and ensure appropriate follow up actions are taken to rectify.
  • Manage the performance of the workshop to ensure that KPI targets are achieved.
  • Manage and plan workshop/support resources to ensure that work requirements are fulfilled.
  • Support the department team as required and ensure that all work is completed on time.
  • Support the service department with specifications and coding of non-standard, complex jobs and ensure all such work is approved with customers prior to any work being started.
  • Manage the handover of complex or potentially contentious jobs (invoices, claims) to ensure full buy-in and agreement from the customer (Retail or Internal).

  • This role would ideally suit someone who has previously worked within a dealership as either a Trainee Workshop Controller, Experienced Workshop Foreman or Experienced Workshop Controller and are looking to Listers for more opportunities to progress.
