We are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join Listers MG in Solihull. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team ahead of our new dealership opening in June/July 2025. MG is one of the fastest-growing automotive brands with an extensive lineup of new models. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm, as well as Saturdays 9am to 1pm on a rota basis.
Our packages and pay plans are industry-leading, reflecting each applicant's experience and skillset. We offer excellent basic salaries with OTEs up to £41,000 plus benefits, depending on experience. Role and Responsibilities:
- Servicing, repairing, and diagnosing all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring high standards are met first time.
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, including suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts, and air conditioning servicing.
- Repair and maintain EV and Hybrid vehicles, using electronic diagnostic equipment, focusing on batteries, drive motors, auxiliary drive packs, and control systems.
- Fit manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.
- Understand and prioritize Customer Satisfaction and its impact on the business.
- Operate additional systems like video reporting (e.g., CitNOW).
- Complete all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards.
- Collaborate with workshop team members to share knowledge and learn.
About you:
- Experience in the automotive sector as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, Motor Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Auto Electrician, MOT Tester, or Apprentice Vehicle Technician.
- Experience at independent garages, fast fit centers, car supermarkets, or main dealerships.
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Electric and Hybrid vehicle qualification is advantageous but not essential; full training provided.
- MOT license is beneficial but not essential.
- Full UK driving license.
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, with a commitment to high standards.
