Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Controller to join our VW Dealership in Coventry. Hours of work are 08:00 – 18:00, Monday to Fridays and Saturdays on a rota basis. Excellent Basic Salary with OTE of up to £44,000 plus car & benefits.
The Workshop Manager is responsible for ensuring maximum productivity in the workshop, liaising between Service Advisor’s and Technicians, ensuring that all required work is actioned effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Managing the workflow of all jobs to brand standard.
- Manage a team of Technicians ensuring workflow through the workshop is done in an efficient and effective manner.
- Provide focused management to the service department team, to ensure an excellent customer experience.
- Ensure processes are always adhered to.
- Conduct regular process reviews with your Aftersales Manager to identify operational issues / discrepancies and ensure appropriate follow up actions are taken to rectify.
- Manage the performance of the workshop to ensure that KPI targets are achieved.
- Manage and plan workshop / support resources to ensure that work requirements are fulfilled.
- Support the department team as required and ensure that all work is completed on time.
- Support the service department with specifications and coding of non-standard, complex jobs and ensure all such work is approved with customers prior to any work being started.
- Manage the handover of complex or potentially contentious jobs (invoices, claims) to ensure full buy-in and agreement from the customer (Retail or Internal).

- This role would ideally suit someone who has previously worked within a dealership as either a Trainee Workshop Controller, Experienced Workshop Foreman or Experienced Workshop Controller and are looking to Listers for more opportunities to progress.
