We’re looking for a talented Practice Manager to join our Primary Care Team at the prestigious GP Practice - The London General Practice. Above all else, we’re committed to the care and improvement of human life. This guiding vision influences everything we do at HCA UK.
What You’ll Do
- Oversees all daily practice operations, including but not limited to: management of the medical secretaries (including temporary staff), appointment scheduling, clinical letters, billing procedures.
- Provision of medical secretary/administrative management and any additional support that is required to run the practice.
- Ensures that an adequate number of appropriately trained professionals and personnel are on duty at all times to meet the needs of the patients.
- Ensure the smooth running of the practice and highest levels of customer service to the patients and GPs.
- Consults with other managers, supervisors and staff concerning practice operations, problem solving and service improvement.
- Makes written and oral reports and recommendations to leadership concerning the operations of the clinics.
- Perform weekly and monthly practice financial audits, reporting all discrepancies to line manager.
- Support the chairing of key meetings.
- Oversee invoicing, debt collection and practice accounts where required.
- Acknowledge, investigate and respond to complaints with compassion, and in line with the Complaints Handling policy. Escalate where appropriate.
What You’ll Bring
- A Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field (or equivalent experience is desirable).
- Proven experience in a management or supervisory role within a healthcare practice setting, including people management, and awareness of people management policies is essential.
- Proficiency in practice management systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team effectively.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting within a healthcare setting.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and service.
