About The Role
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for completing both planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks. This includes carrying out skilled general maintenance work in all aspects of the facilities, both internal and external as well as general DIY and maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, replacement of tiling and flooring, painting and decorating. This will also include regular checks and assessments of consulting rooms, other clinical and public areas and performing jobs as and when they are required. This role will involve some lone working.
What You’ll Do
- Experience in carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on building services.
- Hands-on work with mechanical and electrical systems, including fault finding and repairs.
- Maintaining equipment such as HVAC systems, pumps, motors, lighting, and distribution systems.
- Experience responding to breakdowns and emergency callouts in a timely manner.
- Fault diagnosis and repair of plant and equipment.
- Working with air conditioning systems (F-Gas), ventilation, and heating systems.
- Electrical maintenance (basic wiring, testing, lighting, 3-phase systems where applicable).
- Plumbing and general building maintenance.
- Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems) monitoring (desirable).
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe systems of work.
- Experience working with RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements).
- Ensuring compliance with statutory inspections and standards (fire safety, pressure systems, water hygiene etc.).
What You’ll Bring
- NVQ Level 2 or above/BTEC 2 or above/City & Guilds.
- Health & Safety, COSHH.
- Must be GCSE level or equivalent, with passes in English and Maths.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft office applications with the ability to master all relevant internal systems. The role will require use of an electronic system for logging/reporting/signing-off tasks via tablet.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience - ideally in healthcare environment.
