Porter – London Bridge Hospital

Shifts between 6:30 AM and 9:30 PM, Monday to Sunday. Pay: £12.71 per hour.

We are currently seeking Porters to join our bank at London Bridge Hospital. You will provide a first‑class portering service to patients, consultants, and visitors. This includes transporting patients and visitors to their rooms, transferring patients between departments, delivering mail, equipment, and materials, and ensuring safety and security within the hospital.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide a portering/security service, including delivery/collection of mail, linen, drugs, and other items as requested.
  • Explain room facilities to patients.
  • Assist patients with luggage and escort them to their rooms.
  • Relieve reception staff for breaks.
  • Collect and frank post.
  • Park consultant cars.
  • Check gauges and store gas bottles, changing them as necessary.
  • Act as part of the hospital fire and safety team.
  • Act as part of the crash team.

What You’ll Bring

  • Physically fit, able to lift heavy items when required.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Excellent communication and customer skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
