We’re looking for a Clinical Case Manager to join our Case Management Team at The Wellington Hospital. This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Band 6 (or equivalent) nurse or healthcare professional with extensive inpatient bedside nursing experience across both adult and paediatric care, or a senior clinician with a strong background within the healthcare insurance sector.

The role offers the opportunity to apply your clinical expertise, leadership skills and professional judgement in a broader, system-focused role that influences patient outcomes beyond the bedside. Working at one of HCA Healthcare UK’s flagship hospitals, you'll join a highly skilled team responsible for coordinating complex patient journeys across adult and paediatric services.

We are seeking someone with a proven track record of clinical leadership, autonomous decision-making and managing complex care pathways. Working closely with consultants, multidisciplinary teams and third‑party payers, you'll use your senior-level experience to drive safe, effective and well‑coordinated care from admission through to discharge, while advocating for patients and supporting optimal use of healthcare resources.

Above all else, we’re committed to the care and improvement of human life. It’s this guiding vision that influences everything we do at HCA UK. From the CEO to the colleagues on the floor, we all have a part to play in delivering exceptional care to our patients.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assess, plan, coordinate and review patient care and discharge planning across adult and paediatric services, starting from admission.
  • Act as a key liaison between patients, families, clinicians and third‑party payers to support safe, effective and timely care.
  • Complete utilisation reviews and obtain authorisation for treatment and ongoing care.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions and coordinated care and discharge decisions.
  • Promote patient advocacy, effective resource use and high standards of documentation and communication.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Registered with the NMC as an Adult Nurse, with substantial post‑registration experience and demonstrable exposure to paediatric care.
  • Extensive inpatient bedside nursing experience across both adult and paediatric services is essential—candidates must have hands‑on clinical experience in both settings, not one or the other.
  • Strong background in inpatient nursing or, alternatively, significant experience within the healthcare insurance sector in a clinical or case management role.
  • Proven expertise in utilisation review and managing complex discharge planning pathways.
  • Senior‑level clinical experience, typically at Band 6 or above (or equivalent), with demonstrable clinical leadership, service coordination, team supervision and/or management responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to lead complex clinical decision‑making, influence multidisciplinary teams and coordinate care across multiple stakeholders.
