We’re looking for a Health and Wellbeing Physiologist to work for our client in Glasgow. The role includes monthly travel to Sunderland on an overnight basis, with expenses paid. You will be based at the client’s site.
Location: Glasgow
Hours: Full‑time (37.5 hours per week)
Shift Times: Monday to Friday only
Employment Type: Permanent, Hybrid (3 days in the office)
Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Undertake body composition assessments and measurements without supervision, including capillary blood tests (table‑top analysed), height, weight, blood pressure, lifestyle questionnaires and other relevant medical tests.
- Interpret clinical data and deliver appropriate wellbeing and lifestyle advice.
- Recommend escalation and coordinate with other clinical support as required, including behavioural coaching or sign‑posting to GP or other clinical services.
- Deliver 1:1 health coaching (four sessions over a 12‑week period), encouraging positive goal setting and behaviour change.
- Lead health screening promotional days externally for corporate clients as required.
- Record clinical data and reports onto the medical database system.
- Complete patient consultation and health coaching reports on the clinical management system.
Qualifications:
- A methodical and organised approach to work with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate sensitively with patients when cooperation may be compromised by age, disability, illness or other factors.
- Initiative to coordinate effectively with colleagues in IT, Operations, Administration and other departments.
- Understanding of the interpretation of scientific or laboratory data and ability to translate it to simple form.
- Flexible working practice and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Good IT skills.
- Good written and spoken English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- In‑depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology related to cardiology, vascular and respiratory sciences.
