Birmingham: The Harborne Hospital is looking for a Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Surgical Inpatients team. This is a full-time position, Monday to Sunday, 37.5 hours per week with flexible shift times including long days, nights, and weekends based on internal rotation. The role is permanent with a competitive salary (DOE) plus a 9% shift allowance.
The Harborne Hospital is a brand new £100 million, purpose-built 50 bed, multi-speciality private hospital located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus. It has a deep clinical infrastructure, equipment, and facilities, along with expert teams to deliver full clinical pathways across various specialties and sub-specialties, including Cardiology, Cancer, and Complex Surgery.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated nurse with exceptional skills and knowledge in General surgery to assist in leading the way in the provision of outstanding patient care within HCA. The ward is a 12-bedded multi-speciality surgical ward, including GI, Gynae, orthopaedics, breast, spinal, liver, etc. This role is both exciting and challenging; the skills required are based on experience managing this specialist patient group while utilising a strong evidence base.
The charge nurse will work with the manager and matron to deliver high quality and innovative nursing practice in line with HCA's mission and vision, national guidelines, and standards.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience working in a surgical inpatient setting
- Experience in the provision of staff education within General surgery patients (local level)
- Current nursing registration (First Level) through the Nursing & Midwifery Council
- Willingness to undertake relevant post-registration courses
- ILS provider course completed and qualification required upon hire, or within 3 months of hire
- Management experience/leading a team
