Permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, occasional Saturdays, short and long days

We’re looking for a Theatre Scrub Practitioner – Urology to join our Theatre team at The Harborne Hospital. Opened in January 2024, The Harborne Hospital is a £100 million, purpose‑built, 50‑bed private hospital located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Campus. With four state‑of‑the‑art operating theatres, including a Hybrid Theatre, the hospital is equipped with the latest surgical technology and is recognised for its delivery of complex and innovative care, particularly in robotic‑assisted and minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci system.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the scrub practitioner for a range of urological procedures, maintaining the highest standards of aseptic technique
  • Scrub confidently for robotic‑assisted urological surgery using the da Vinci surgical system
  • Prepare and manage surgical instruments, equipment and the sterile field for complex cases
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide skilled support throughout procedures
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre colleagues to deliver safe, high‑quality care

What You’ll Bring

  • A current NMC pin or HCPC registration
  • Post‑registration experience as a Scrub Practitioner within an operating theatre
  • Proven experience in robotic‑assisted surgery, including the da Vinci system
  • A strong interest in urology and minimally invasive surgical techniques
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
