Lista Ventures is leading a confidential search for a technically strong and commercially minded Property Facultative Underwriter on behalf of a global reinsurance group entering its next phase of international growth. This role forms part of a targeted build-out of the Property Facultative capability in London and offers exposure to international business, broker-facing underwriting, and long-term platform growth. The successful candidate will join a lean, high-quality underwriting environment with direct visibility and meaningful impact.
The Role
As a Property Facultative Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting and developing a portfolio of Property Fac business across global markets, working closely with London Market brokers and internal stakeholders. The role combines technical underwriting, relationship management, and commercial judgement, and is well suited to an underwriter looking to deepen their expertise while growing with a reinsurance platform rather than operating in a narrowly siloed role. You will work alongside experienced underwriters and contribute to the continued strengthening of underwriting discipline, portfolio quality, and broker relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite Property Facultative risks in line with agreed appetite, authority, and underwriting standards.
- Review submissions, pricing, exposure analysis, and technical documentation with a high level of accuracy and judgement.
- Contribute to portfolio performance, risk selection, and profitability across international business.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with London Market reinsurance brokers and selected international partners.
- Represent the platform in broker meetings and market discussions, supporting long-term, partnership-led relationships.
- Work closely with internal underwriting, engineering, and exposure teams to support informed decision-making.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of underwriting processes, tools, and market approach.
What We’re Looking For
- Approximately 4-7 years experience underwriting Property Facultative business.
- Background within reinsurance, with exposure to the London Market and/or Lloyd’s environment.
- Strong technical underwriting skills, including pricing and exposure analysis.
- Proven ability to manage broker relationships and operate confidently in a broker-facing role.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with data and technical information.
- ACII qualification (or working towards).
- Exposure to international markets beyond the UK.
- Additional language skills.
- Experience working in a growing or entrepreneurial underwriting platform.
