We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join the Electrical Engineering Team at Phillips 66 Humber Refinery. This is an agency role, working on a PAYE basis through List Recruitment. The primary purpose of the Electrical Project Engineer is to provide engineering and design services to ensure Phillips 66 engineering requirements are properly implemented and technical support is provided in support of operations and the development of new projects.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Design & Standards: Provide support and guidance to designers and drafting personnel in the production of drawings and specifications to ensure these are produced to Company Standards without error and to an agreed schedule.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical engineering expertise to enable estimates, studies, and design and construction functions to be fulfilled. Review the scope of works for the Project to ensure it is clearly understood and highlight any uncertainties or omissions.
  • Project Coordination: Act as the focal point between the Project Contractor, Vendors (Equipment suppliers and sub-contractors), the Phillips 66 Project Team, and Central Records Group.
  • Site Investigation: Ensure all site measurement and investigation work is accomplished to ensure design allows for safe and economic construction.
  • Technical Deliverables: Produce scopes of work, specifications, and calculations as required. Assist in the generation of cost estimates and maintain a full Project history file documenting written and verbal instructions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to the Central Records Group at the end of the Project to ensure any possible improvements to the Standards and/or Procedures are captured for future Projects.

Critical Skills & Qualifications

  • Essential: Degree in Engineering.
  • Petrochemical Experience: Proven experience in design and construction within the Petrochemical sector.
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of 11kV and 415V distribution systems and BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
  • Hazardous Areas: Knowledge of Hazardous areas and types of protection.
  • Software: Knowledge of discipline-specific design software and intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, email, database).
  • Desirable: Ten years' experience in a similar role.

  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a Team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
