Lisburn Auto Salvage Ltd is a family-run vehicle and recovery service established in 1962, working with many of Northern Ireland’s largest vehicle insurers.

Role Description

The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operational activities across salvage, and auction services to ensure efficiency, safety, and high-quality service delivery.

This full-time, on-site role is located in Lisburn and involves coordinating staff schedules, managing workflow, and monitoring performance against operational targets.

The Operations Manager will implement and refine processes, ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies, and manage relationships with insurers, customers, and partners.

Responsibilities include supervising teams, handling operational issues, optimizing resource use, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives tied to business growth.

The role also involves preparing reports, contributing to budget and planning discussions, and collaborating with leadership on strategic decisions related to operations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in operations management, preferably within automotive, vehicle salvage, or related industries.
  • Strong skills in team leadership, staff supervision, and performance management, with the ability to foster a respectful and inclusive work environment.
  • Proficiency in planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and process optimization.
  • Ability to analyze operational data, prepare reports, and use insights to improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices, relevant industry regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with insurers, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Competence with standard office and operations-related software (e. g., spreadsheets, databases, management systems), and willingness to learn internal platforms.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, resilience in a fast-paced environment, and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Relevant professional training or qualifications in operations, business management, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
