Lisa Wright Recruitment is recruiting a Purchasing Co-ordinator to work for a leading global manufacturer based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing and supply chain management, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating all aspects of the purchasing process, including sourcing, negotiating, and ordering goods and services for the company
- Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and identifying potential new suppliers
- Negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure the best value for the company
- Monitoring inventory levels and forecasting future demand to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing decisions
- Collaborating with other departments to understand their purchasing needs and develop effective procurement strategies
- Ensuring all purchases are in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Managing purchase orders and invoices, and resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise
- Conducting market research and staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in purchasing and supply chain management
- Maintaining accurate records and reports related to purchasing activities
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management
- Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with purchasing software
- Ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
